Position: Admissions Counselor
We are seeking a proactive, student-focused Admissions Counselor to support prospective learners through the end-to-end university admissions journey. This role blends counseling, outreach, application processing, and cross-functional coordination to ensure a smooth, transparent, and high-quality applicant experience.
Responsibilities
- Guide prospective students on program options, eligibility, admission criteria, and documentation requirements.
- Respond to inquiries via phone, email, chat, and walk-ins with accurate and timely information.
- Support applicants through the application lifecycle: registration, form completion, document collection, verification, fee guidance, and status updates.
- Review applications for completeness and accuracy; flag discrepancies and coordinate resolutions.
- Coordinate with academic departments, finance, and administration to facilitate admissions decisions and onboarding.
- Maintain accurate applicant records in CRM/admissions systems; ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
- Conduct outreach activities such as counseling sessions, webinars, campus visits, and education fairs.
- Track daily/weekly performance metrics (lead follow-ups, conversions, pending documents) and prepare basic reports.
- Promote a positive student experience by providing clear communication, realistic timelines, and empathetic support.
- Ensure adherence to institutional policies and applicable regulatory guidelines for admissions and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Master’s degree is a plus).
- 1–3 years of experience in admissions, student services, education counseling, customer service, or sales (freshers with strong communication skills may be considered).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain processes clearly and professionally.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple applications simultaneously.
- Comfort with CRM tools, spreadsheets, email workflows, and document management.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to follow defined processes while improving applicant experience.
- Willingness to work occasional weekends/extended hours during peak admission cycles.
