Position Overview
We are seeking an Admissions Counselor to support prospective students through the end-to-end admissions journey for higher education programs. This role focuses on applicant guidance, application processing support, eligibility verification, and coordination with internal teams to ensure a smooth and compliant admissions experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, student-centric, and comfortable working with deadlines and digital application systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide prospective applicants on program options, eligibility, required documentation, and application timelines.
- Support students through the online application process, including troubleshooting common issues and clarifying instructions.
- Review applications for completeness and accuracy; follow up with applicants to resolve missing or inconsistent information.
- Coordinate with academic departments and administrative offices to verify eligibility criteria and document requirements.
- Maintain accurate applicant records in the admissions CRM/portal and ensure data integrity.
- Assist with admissions communications, including email/phone support, FAQs, and status updates.
- Support scheduling and coordination for any required assessments, interviews, or document verification steps.
- Ensure adherence to institutional policies, privacy requirements, and applicable compliance standards.
- Prepare periodic reports on application volumes, conversion metrics, and applicant support tickets for internal review.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of admissions processes and student experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Master’s preferred) from a recognized institution.
- 1–3 years of experience in admissions, student services, education counseling, or a related administrative role (freshers with strong communication and organizational skills may be considered).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex requirements clearly.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple applications and deadlines simultaneously.
- Comfort with web-based portals, spreadsheets, and CRM/admissions systems.
- Professional, empathetic approach when interacting with applicants and parents/guardians.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Basic understanding of document verification and record management best practices is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting admissions for engineering/technology programs or a technical university environment.
- Experience handling high-volume application cycles and applicant query management.
- Familiarity with standard admissions documentation (mark sheets, identity proofs, category certificates where applicable) and verification workflows.
