We are seeking an Admissions & Cutoff Analyst to support admissions planning, cutoff analysis, and applicant communications across academic programs. This role focuses on compiling and validating cutoff-related data, supporting merit list workflows, coordinating with academic departments, and ensuring accurate public-facing information for prospective students.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, compile, and validate cutoff marks, merit lists, and admission-related datasets across programs and categories (e.g., general, reserved, special quotas where applicable).
  • Analyze historical trends in cutoffs, seat utilization, applicant volume, and conversion rates to support admissions strategy and forecasting.
  • Coordinate with academic departments and examination/records teams to reconcile discrepancies and maintain consistent source-of-truth records.
  • Prepare clear summaries, dashboards, and reports for leadership and admissions committees (monthly, seasonal, and ad-hoc).
  • Support publication workflows for admissions updates, including cutoff notifications, FAQs, and applicant guidance content.
  • Maintain documentation for processes, data definitions, and audit trails to ensure transparency and repeatability.
  • Assist with applicant query resolution related to eligibility, merit criteria, cutoff interpretation, and timelines.
  • Ensure data privacy and compliance when handling applicant information and academic records.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for admissions operations, including process automation and standardization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Applications, Business Analytics, Education Administration, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in admissions operations, academic administration, institutional research, or data analysis (education sector preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups, data validation) and comfort working with large datasets.
  • Working knowledge of reporting/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar) is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret admission criteria, category rules, and merit/cutoff calculations with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex cutoff data into applicant-friendly guidance.
  • High integrity and discretion in handling confidential student data.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines during peak admission cycles.
