Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) is inviting applications for the role of Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) and Assistant Engineer (AE) across multiple streams. This position offers an opportunity to work in a large, public-sector insurance organization with exposure to operations, governance, compliance, engineering project execution, and specialized professional functions.
Depending on the stream, you may be appointed as an AAO (Generalist), AAO (Specialist) (CA/CS/Actuarial/Insurance Specialist/Legal), or AE (Civil/Electrical). Selection is typically conducted through a Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Interview.
Responsibilities
- AAO (Generalist): Support branch/office administration, policy servicing, underwriting support, claims coordination, customer service operations, reporting, and process compliance.
- AAO (Insurance Specialist): Contribute to life insurance product/operations expertise, regulatory-aligned processes, risk and controls, and cross-functional advisory in IRDAI-regulated environments.
- AAO (CA): Support financial reporting, accounting controls, audit coordination, regulatory reporting, and financial compliance.
- AAO (CS): Assist with corporate governance, statutory filings, board/committee support, and compliance management.
- AAO (Actuarial): Support actuarial analysis, valuation support, experience studies, pricing inputs, and reporting aligned to actuarial standards.
- AAO (Legal): Handle legal drafting, case coordination, compliance advisory, and representation/liaison as required; support internal stakeholders on legal risk and documentation.
- AE (Civil): Plan and execute civil works for multi-storied building projects; manage contractors, quality, safety, timelines, measurement books, and project documentation.
- AE (Electrical): Plan and execute electrical works for multi-storied building projects; oversee electrical systems, vendor management, testing/commissioning, and statutory compliance.
- Maintain high standards of integrity, confidentiality, documentation, and adherence to organizational policies and applicable regulations.
Requirements
General Eligibility
- Minimum age: 21 years.
- Maximum age varies by stream (commonly up to 30–32 years as per notification); age relaxation may apply as per LIC rules.
- Ability to qualify in the selection process: Prelims, Mains, and Interview.
Stream-wise Qualifications
- AAO (Generalist): Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian university/institution.
- AE (Civil): B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering (AICTE-recognized) with 3+ years post-qualification experience in planning/executing multi-storied building projects.
- AE (Electrical): B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical Engineering (AICTE-recognized) with 3+ years post-qualification experience in planning/executing multi-storied building projects.
- AAO (CA): Bachelor’s degree plus ICAI Final qualified and Associate Member of ICAI.
- AAO (CS): Bachelor’s degree plus qualified member of ICSI.
- AAO (Actuarial): Bachelor’s degree plus at least 6 papers passed of the Institute of Actuaries of India or Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK), with membership details for verification.
- AAO (Insurance Specialist): Bachelor’s degree plus professional qualification in Life Insurance (e.g., Fellowship of Insurance Institute of India) and 5+ years experience in IRDAI-regulated Life Insurance companies.
- AAO (Legal): Bachelor’s degree in Law with required marks as per category, enrolled with Bar Council as an Advocate, and 2+ years experience as an Advocate or as a Law Officer in relevant organizations/government.
