Role Overview
Assistant Commandants are commissioned officers who undertake leadership roles in operations, administration, and engineering/technical functions (depending on branch). The position involves training, readiness, and field deployment as per organizational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage teams in operational and administrative assignments as per branch allocation.
- Support maritime security operations, surveillance, and mission planning (GD).
- Execute and oversee technical maintenance, engineering readiness, and equipment performance (Technical).
- Participate in drills, training programs, and operational preparedness activities.
- Ensure compliance with organizational procedures, safety standards, and documentation requirements.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders for logistics, reporting, and verification processes.
- Maintain professional conduct and readiness for deployment as required.
Requirements
- Age Limit (as on 01 July 2026): Minimum 21 years; Maximum 25 years (age relaxation as per ICG rules).
- Branch: General Duty (GD) (Male)
- 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics.
- Graduation degree with minimum 60% marks across all semesters/years.
- Branch: Technical – Mechanical (Male)
- B.E./B.Tech with minimum 60% in eligible disciplines including: Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Marine, Automotive, Mechatronics, Industrial & Production, Metallurgy, Design, Aeronautical, Aerospace.
- 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics.
- Branch: Technical – Electrical/Electronics (Male)
- Engineering degree with minimum 60% in eligible disciplines including: Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Instrumentation, Instrumentation & Control, Electronics & Communication, Power Engineering, Power Electronics.
- 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics.
- Ability to meet selection standards including identity/document verification as part of the recruitment process.
