The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) invites applications for the post of Assistant Commandant for the 01/2026 Batch. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage teams during maritime operations, including coastal surveillance, search and rescue, and maritime law enforcement.
- Plan and execute operational tasks in coordination with senior officers and multi-agency stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, operational readiness, and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain discipline, training standards, and performance management for assigned personnel.
- For Technical branches: oversee maintenance, reliability, and operational availability of onboard/shore-based engineering and electrical/electronic systems.
- Support documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements related to missions, equipment, and administrative processes.
- Participate in selection/verification processes as required and uphold integrity and service values.
Requirements
- Age: Minimum 21 years and maximum 25 years as on 01 July 2025 (relaxation as per ICG regulations).
- General Duty (GD) Eligibility:
- 10+2 passed with Physics and Mathematics as subjects from a recognized board.
- Graduate degree with minimum 60% marks in all semesters/years.
- Technical (Mechanical) Eligibility:
- B.E./B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in disciplines such as Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Marine, Automotive, Mechatronics, Industrial & Production, Metallurgy, Design, Aeronautical, Aerospace (as notified).
- 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics.
- Technical (Electrical/Electronics) Eligibility:
- Engineering degree with minimum 60% marks in disciplines such as Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Instrumentation, Instrumentation & Control, Electronics & Communication, Power Engineering, Power Electronics (as notified).
- 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics.
- Ability to meet service standards for leadership, operational readiness, and role-specific duties.
- Willingness to serve in challenging environments and transferable postings as per organizational requirements.
