The Indian Coast Guard invites eligible candidates to serve as Assistant Commandant in General Duty and Technical branches. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage teams in operational, administrative, and training environments.
- Execute maritime safety, security, and law enforcement missions as per operational requirements.
- Plan and coordinate patrols, surveillance, and search & rescue operations.
- Support disaster response and humanitarian assistance operations when required.
- For Technical branches: maintain, troubleshoot, and oversee engineering/electrical/electronics systems on vessels and shore establishments.
- Ensure compliance with applicable procedures, standards, and safety protocols.
- Prepare operational reports, maintain records, and coordinate with internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Age Limit (as on 01 July 2025): 21 to 25 years (age relaxation as per ICG recruitment rules).
- General Duty (Male): Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 60% marks (all semesters/years) from a recognized university/college; Maths and Physics as subjects at 10+2 level.
- Technical – Mechanical (Male): BE/B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in relevant disciplines such as Naval Architecture/Mechanical/Marine/Automotive/Mechatronics/Industrial & Production/Metallurgy/Design/Aeronautical/Aerospace; Maths and Physics at 10+2 level.
- Technical – Electrical/Electronics (Male): Engineering degree with minimum 60% marks in Electrical/Electronics/Telecommunication/Instrumentation/Instrumentation & Control/Electronics & Communication/Power Engineering/Power Electronics; Maths and Physics at 10+2 level.
- Ability to meet medical and physical standards applicable to Indian Coast Guard officer roles.
- Strong leadership, discipline, communication skills, and willingness to serve in challenging environments.
