MPPGCL (Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Engineer (AE). This role supports power generation operations through engineering design, maintenance, project execution, and compliance activities across thermal and other generation assets.

Responsibilities

Support operation and maintenance (O&M) activities for power plant equipment and systems (mechanical/electrical/civil/instrumentation as applicable).
Assist in planning and executing preventive and breakdown maintenance to improve reliability and availability of units.
Participate in engineering studies, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis (RCA), and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
Support project execution activities including scope review, BOQ verification, site supervision, and coordination with contractors/vendors.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, safety standards, and internal SOPs; promote safe work practices on site.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, daily/weekly reports, maintenance logs, and performance summaries.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (operations, stores, procurement, QA/QC, finance) to ensure timely execution of tasks.
Monitor equipment performance indicators and assist in initiatives for efficiency improvement and cost optimization.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) in a relevant discipline (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics/Instrumentation) from a recognized university.
Understanding of power plant systems, industrial maintenance practices, and basic project execution concepts.
Working knowledge of safety practices and statutory compliance in industrial environments.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with maintenance management systems/ERP is an advantage.
Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills with an on-site, hands-on approach.
Willingness to work in shifts/on-call as required and travel to plant/project locations within Madhya Pradesh.
