Position: Assistant Professor (Medical Education)

We are seeking a dedicated and academically driven Assistant Professor (Medical Education) to contribute to teaching, curriculum development, research, and academic governance within a medical education environment. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about training future healthcare professionals, strengthening assessment systems, and advancing scholarship in medical education.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching for undergraduate and/or postgraduate learners using evidence-based educational strategies.
  • Develop, review, and update curriculum content aligned with regulatory standards and institutional learning outcomes.
  • Design and implement learner-centered instructional methods (e.g., problem-based learning, simulation, OSCE preparation, small-group facilitation).
  • Create, administer, and evaluate assessments, including formative and summative tools; support blueprinting, standard setting, and item analysis.
  • Mentor and advise students; provide academic counseling and facilitate professional development.
  • Conduct scholarly work in medical education and/or clinical/biomedical domains, including research design, data collection, publication, and conference presentations.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, accreditation activities, and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Support faculty development programs (workshops, peer observation, teaching improvement plans) as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate academic records, documentation, and compliance with institutional policies and applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • Medical degree and/or relevant postgraduate qualification as per institutional and regulatory norms for Assistant Professor appointments.
  • Demonstrated teaching ability in medical or health professions education.
  • Understanding of modern assessment methods (e.g., OSCE/OSPE, MCQ item writing, workplace-based assessment).
  • Research aptitude with evidence of publications, presentations, or ongoing scholarly activity (preferred).
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary faculty and administrative teams.
  • Proficiency with academic technologies and learning platforms (LMS, digital assessment tools) is an advantage.
