Overview: We are seeking detail-oriented and service-driven professionals for the role of Assistant Section Officer (ASO). The ASO supports departmental operations through office administration, coordination, records management, drafting, and process facilitation across sections. This role requires strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a structured, compliance-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day section operations including file movement, documentation, and record maintenance.
  • Draft and format official notes, letters, reports, and correspondence as per prescribed standards.
  • Coordinate with internal sections and external stakeholders to track actions, deadlines, and approvals.
  • Assist in implementing administrative procedures, ensuring adherence to rules, policies, and official protocols.
  • Maintain registers, databases, and office records; ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and timely updates.
  • Support examination/selection or departmental workflows where applicable, including verification and reporting tasks.
  • Prepare summaries, briefs, and data inputs for senior officers to aid decision-making.
  • Handle routine queries and provide operational support for meetings, schedules, and communications.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduate degree from a recognized university (completed on or before the last date of application as per the official notification).
  • Age Limits (as per applicable rules):
    • Minimum: 21 years
    • Maximum: 37 years (Male)
    • Maximum: 40 years (Female UR, BC/EBC)
    • Maximum: 42 years (SC/ST)
    • Age relaxation applicable as per government norms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (Hindi and/or English as per role requirements).
  • Proficiency in basic office tools (word processing, spreadsheets, email) and comfort working with structured workflows.
  • High attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, and maintain accurate records.
  • Integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in handling official information.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and follow established procedures and reporting lines.
