This role supports the planning, development, and regulation of urban and regional areas through evidence-based planning, statutory compliance, and coordination with multiple stakeholders. The Assistant Town Planner contributes to preparing and reviewing development plans, zoning proposals, infrastructure planning inputs, and related technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation, review, and implementation support for master plans, development plans, and sector plans.
- Support land-use planning activities including zoning, development control regulations, and planning standards.
- Conduct planning studies and analysis using demographic, socio-economic, environmental, and spatial datasets.
- Prepare technical notes, reports, maps, and documentation for planning proposals and statutory submissions.
- Coordinate with government departments, urban local bodies, and other agencies for plan inputs and clearances.
- Support evaluation of development proposals with reference to applicable planning rules and guidelines.
- Participate in field visits, site assessments, stakeholder consultations, and inter-departmental meetings.
- Assist in maintaining records, plan archives, and project documentation for planning initiatives.
Requirements
- Education: Post Graduate Degree or equivalent qualification in Town Planning, Regional Planning, Urban Planning, City Planning, Country Planning, Transport Planning, Housing, or Environmental Planning from a recognized university in India.
- Age Limit (as on 01 August 2025): Minimum 21 years; Maximum 37 years (Male); Maximum 40 years (Female UR, BC, EBC Male & Female); Maximum 42 years (SC/ST Male & Female). Age relaxation as per applicable rules.
- Ability to interpret planning regulations, standards, and statutory requirements.
- Strong analytical, report-writing, and documentation skills.
- Comfort working with multi-stakeholder teams and handling multiple assignments with deadlines.
