Position: Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM)

Overview: We are seeking compassionate, detail-oriented Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) to support community and facility-based healthcare delivery across Bihar. The ANM plays a vital role in maternal and child health services, immunization, basic clinical care, health education, and public health program implementation in coordination with medical officers, staff nurses, ASHAs, and other frontline workers.
Responsibilities
- Provide essential nursing care and basic clinical support in assigned health facilities and outreach settings.
- Support antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal care services, including counseling and risk identification.
- Assist in immunization sessions and ensure accurate beneficiary tracking and follow-up.
- Conduct basic health assessments, record vital signs, and support referrals as per protocols.
- Maintain patient records, registers, and reports as required under applicable public health programs.
- Support national/state health initiatives (e.g., community health outreach, adolescent health, family planning, and other programmatic activities as assigned).
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention practices, biomedical waste handling, and safety guidelines.
- Participate in community awareness activities, health education sessions, and coordination with local stakeholders.
- Assist in stock management for essential supplies/consumables and report shortages in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with supervisors and program teams for monitoring, documentation, and service quality improvement.
Requirements
- Education: Diploma (2 Years Full Time) in Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) from a recognized ANM training institute.
- Registration: Valid registration with the Bihar Nurses Registration Council is mandatory.
- Age (as per referenced recruitment norms): Minimum 21 years; upper age limits may vary by category and gender as per applicable rules and relaxations.
- Basic proficiency in maintaining clinical documentation, registers, and program formats.
- Ability to work in field/outreach conditions and coordinate with community health workers.
- Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and patient-centered approach.
- Willingness to comply with government/public health protocols and reporting requirements.
