The Central Selection Board of Constable (CSBC), Bihar invites eligible candidates to apply for the Driver Constable position. This role supports police operations by ensuring safe, timely, and compliant transportation of personnel, documents, and equipment. Selection will be conducted through a written examination, physical efficiency test (PET), driving skill test, document verification, and medical examination.
Responsibilities
- Operate assigned Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) or Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) safely and responsibly as per departmental instructions.
- Transport police personnel, official materials, and equipment to designated locations on time.
- Conduct basic daily vehicle checks (fuel, lights, brakes, tires, fluid levels) and report faults promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the vehicle and follow preventive maintenance schedules.
- Comply with traffic laws, departmental driving protocols, and safety procedures.
- Maintain trip logs and other vehicle-related documentation as required.
- Support field duties as assigned, including duties that may require shift work or deployment.
Requirements
- Education: Passed 10+2 (Intermediate) or equivalent.
- Driving License: Valid LMV or HMV driving license issued at least one year prior to 17 July 2025.
- Age Limit (as on 20 August 2025):
- General (Male): 20 to 25 years
- BC/EBC (Male): 20 to 27 years
- BC/EBC (Female): 20 to 28 years
- SC/ST (Male/Female): 20 to 30 years
- Must be able to qualify departmental selection stages including written exam, PET, driving skill test, document verification, and medical examination.
- Strong discipline, reliability, and ability to work under pressure and in field conditions.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Standards
Male Candidates
- Running: 1.6 KM in 7 minutes
- High Jump: Minimum 3 feet 6 inches
- Long Jump: Minimum 10 feet
- Shot Put (16 lbs): Minimum 14 feet
Female Candidates
- Running: 1 KM in 7 minutes
- High Jump: Minimum 2 feet 6 inches
- Long Jump: Minimum 7 feet
- Shot Put (12 lbs): Minimum 8 feet
