Responsibilities
- Perform assigned duties in the relevant trade (e.g., cooking, tailoring, cobbling, carpentry, electrical work, sanitation, barber services, painting, etc.) as per BSF operational requirements.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe and serviceable condition.
- Follow departmental procedures, safety standards, and instructions from supervising officers.
- Support unit readiness by ensuring timely and quality trade services.
- Comply with service discipline and any deployment requirements across India.
Requirements
- Education: Matriculation (10th) or equivalent from a recognized board.
- Trade Qualification (as notified):
- Either 2 years of experience in the relevant trade and a 1-year certificate course from ITI/Vocational Institute with 1 year experience in the relevant trade; or
- 2-year diploma from ITI in the similar trade.
- Age Limit (as on 01-August-2021): 18 to 23 years (age relaxation as per rules).
- Physical Standards (as notified):
- Height: Male: 162.5 cm (SC), 167.5 cm (Other); Female: 150 cm (SC), 157 cm (Other)
- Chest (Male): 76-81 cm (SC), 78-83 cm (Other)
