Position: Cold Chain Technician
Location: Bihar
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cold Chain Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of cold chain equipment used for temperature-sensitive healthcare supplies. This role is critical to ensuring vaccine and medical commodity integrity through reliable cold storage and distribution systems.
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain cold chain equipment (e.g., ice-lined refrigerators, deep freezers, cold rooms, voltage stabilizers, and temperature monitoring devices).
- Perform preventive maintenance checks, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to ensure uninterrupted cold chain operations.
- Maintain accurate temperature logs and equipment performance records; ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Support installation, commissioning, and validation of cold chain units as required.
- Coordinate with facility staff to ensure proper storage, handling, and movement of temperature-sensitive supplies.
- Identify and report equipment faults, power issues, and temperature excursions; assist in corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables required for routine upkeep.
- Assist during audits/inspections and help implement recommended improvements.
Requirements
- Education: 10th pass with ITI diploma (as per role eligibility).
- Working knowledge of refrigeration, electrical systems, and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and maintain technical logs, checklists, and service records.
- Comfortable working in field/health facility environments and responding to urgent breakdowns.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality practices.
