Position: Scientist (CSIR–Central Road Research Institute, CRRI)
CSIR–CRRI invites applications from motivated and research-driven professionals to join as Scientists and contribute to high-impact R&D in transportation, pavements, geotechnical engineering, materials, traffic & safety, and allied domains. Responsibilities
- Plan and execute research and development (R&D) projects aligned with CSIR–CRRI’s mandate in road and transportation research.
- Design experiments, develop methodologies, and analyze data using appropriate scientific and engineering tools.
- Prepare technical reports, research papers, patent/technology disclosures, and project documentation.
- Contribute to sponsored/consultancy projects including proposal writing, project execution, and client/stakeholder engagement.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and external partners (academia, industry, government agencies).
- Support laboratory/field investigations, testing protocols, and quality/safety compliance as applicable.
- Present findings in internal reviews, conferences, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
- Mentor project staff/students and contribute to institutional knowledge-building activities.
Requirements
- Relevant advanced degree (typically ME/M.Tech/PhD or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering/science discipline aligned with CSIR–CRRI research areas.
- Strong foundation in research methods, experimental design, and technical writing.
- Demonstrated ability to work on applied research and/or field-oriented engineering problems.
- Publication record and/or evidence of research output (papers, patents, prototypes, technical reports) is preferred.
- Good communication skills for presenting technical work and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
- Comfort with data analysis tools/software relevant to the domain (e.g., statistical tools, simulation/modelling, CAD/GIS, or lab instrumentation software) as applicable.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes within project timelines.
