We are seeking skilled Draftsman and Cartographer professionals to support large-scale mapping, surveying, and technical drawing initiatives. In this role, you will prepare accurate drawings, maps, and geospatial documentation used for planning, development, and public-sector projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proficient with drafting/cartography tools, and comfortable working with technical standards and timelines.
Responsibilities
- Create, update, and maintain technical drawings, plans, layouts, and maps based on survey data, specifications, and project requirements.
- Prepare cartographic outputs such as thematic maps, topographic maps, and location plans with appropriate legends, scales, and coordinate references.
- Digitize, edit, and validate spatial and non-spatial data; ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across deliverables.
- Collaborate with survey, engineering, and planning teams to interpret field notes, measurements, and technical instructions.
- Use CAD/GIS tools to draft and revise drawings/maps; manage layers, symbology, annotations, and templates as per standards.
- Perform quality checks, version control, and documentation for drawings, map sheets, and related technical records.
- Support printing/plotting, formatting, and submission of final deliverables to internal stakeholders and external authorities.
- Maintain organized archives of project files, reference materials, and metadata.
- Follow applicable drafting/cartographic standards, safety guidelines, and organizational procedures.
Requirements
- Diploma or formal course completion in a relevant field (e.g., Drafting, Civil/Surveying, Cartography, GIS, or related discipline).
- Working knowledge of technical drawing principles, scale, dimensioning, and interpretation of survey/engineering inputs.
- Familiarity with CAD and/or GIS software used for drafting and mapping (tooling may vary by team and project).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect and correct inconsistencies in drawings and map data.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in an exam- or project-driven environment.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with cross-functional technical teams.
- Basic understanding of coordinate systems, map projections, and cartographic conventions is preferred (especially for Cartographer roles).
