Position: Forest Guard / Forester (Group C)

We are seeking motivated and field-ready candidates for a Forester (Group C) role supporting forest protection, conservation operations, and community-facing environmental initiatives. This position involves extensive outdoor work, patrolling assigned forest beats, supporting wildlife and habitat protection measures, and assisting with departmental records and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols within assigned forest areas to prevent illegal activities such as poaching, illicit felling, encroachment, and forest fires.
  • Assist in forest protection duties including fire prevention, early detection, and participation in fire control operations when required.
  • Support plantation, afforestation, and habitat improvement programs, including site preparation, monitoring, and survival assessment.
  • Participate in wildlife and biodiversity protection activities, including reporting sightings, tracking indicators, and assisting in rescue/relocation efforts under supervision.
  • Maintain basic field records, registers, and daily diaries related to patrolling, incidents, and departmental tasks.
  • Coordinate with senior forest staff and local stakeholders on conservation awareness, community outreach, and compliance activities.
  • Assist in inspections, surveys, boundary demarcation support, and verification tasks as assigned.
  • Support departmental operations during special drives, audits, or emergency situations.

Requirements

  • Education: Class 12th (Intermediate) pass with Science or Agriculture from a recognized board or an equivalent qualification.
  • Age: Typically 18 to 28 years (age relaxation may apply as per applicable recruitment rules/policies).
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varied terrain and weather conditions.
  • Basic communication and reporting skills; ability to follow instructions and maintain discipline in field operations.
  • Integrity, alertness, and commitment to public service and environmental protection.
