Generalist Officer (Scale-II) — Banking Operations & Credit

Position: Generalist Officer (Scale-II)

We are seeking an experienced banking professional to join our team as a Generalist Officer (Scale-II). This role is ideal for candidates with strong exposure to branch banking, credit appraisal, customer relationship management, and compliance. You will contribute to business growth while ensuring high standards of risk management and service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day branch operations, ensuring adherence to internal policies, regulatory guidelines, and service standards.
  • Support business development through acquisition and management of retail/SME customers, cross-selling of banking products, and relationship management.
  • Undertake credit-related activities including preliminary appraisal, documentation checks, monitoring of loan accounts, and coordination for sanction/disbursement processes.
  • Ensure KYC/AML compliance, transaction monitoring, and timely resolution of audit/inspection observations.
  • Oversee operational controls, cash management (as applicable), reconciliations, and exception handling to minimize operational risk.
  • Handle customer escalations and ensure resolution within defined timelines, maintaining high customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare periodic MIS, performance reports, and support branch/region targets through data-driven actions.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (credit, operations, compliance, risk, and legal teams) for smooth execution of banking activities.
  • Support team guidance and on-the-job coordination to ensure efficient branch functioning.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks (or 55% for reserved categories as applicable to organizational policy).
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant banking/financial services experience (branch operations, credit, sales, or related roles).
  • Age: Typically 22–35 years (age relaxations may apply per policy and applicable rules).
  • Working knowledge of banking products, RBI/regulatory compliance, KYC/AML norms, and operational risk controls.
  • Strong communication, customer handling, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfort with computer-based systems, core banking platforms, and standard office productivity tools.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under deadlines in a regulated environment.
