This opportunity is for candidates interested in joining the Department of Post under the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) engagement. Selected candidates will support postal operations and customer services in assigned areas as per departmental requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day postal operations at the assigned branch/office as per the role (BPM/ABPM/Dak Sevak).
  • Provide customer-facing services and assist with postal transactions and basic service delivery.
  • Maintain required records, documents, and routine operational registers as instructed.
  • Assist in handling mail delivery/collection and related field activities where applicable.
  • Use basic computer systems for prescribed tasks (where required) and follow departmental procedures.
  • Comply with operational guidelines, local language requirements, and service standards.

Requirements

  • Education: High School / Secondary / Matric (Class 10) pass from a recognized board.
  • Computer Skills: Basic Computer Training Certificate of at least 60 days duration (as applicable/required).
  • Language: Must have studied the local language up to at least Class 10 level.
  • Cycling: Knowledge of cycling is a pre-requisite for all GDS posts.
  • Age Limit (as on 05-June-2022): 18 to 40 years. Age relaxation as per rules.

Pay & Compensation

  • Branch Postmaster (BPM): Rs. 12,000/-
  • Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) / Dak Sevak: Rs. 10,000/-

Note: Compensation may vary as per applicable departmental norms and updates.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on a system-generated merit list, considering the candidate’s merit position and post preferences, as per the official process.

  • Fee payment is to be made through any Head Post Office (as per instructions).
