Position: Head Constable (Education & Stress Counsellor) (Male/Female)

This role supports the well-being, education, and psychological resilience of personnel through counselling, stress management interventions, and structured educational support. The position combines field-oriented service with professional responsibilities in psychology-informed guidance and counselling.

Responsibilities

  • Provide stress counselling and psychological first-line support to personnel as per organizational protocols.
  • Assist in planning and delivering education and awareness sessions on stress management, mental well-being, and resilience.
  • Identify stressors and support needs within units and recommend appropriate interventions within scope.
  • Maintain confidential case notes and documentation in line with ITBP policies and applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate with medical/mental-health authorities and chain of command for referrals and follow-up support when required.
  • Support unit-level welfare initiatives and contribute to a positive, disciplined, and healthy work environment.
  • Participate in training, drills, and other duties as assigned, including postings in challenging terrains and operational areas.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree with Psychology as a subject from a recognized university OR Bachelor’s Degree with B.Ed./Bachelor of Teaching from a recognized university.
  • Age Limit (as per referenced notice): 20 to 25 years (upper age relaxation as per rules).
  • Eligibility: Open to candidates from all states/UTs (as per recruitment rules).
  • Fitness & Selection: Must be able to qualify prescribed selection stages, which may include Online/Written Examination, PET, PST, Skill Test and other assessments as applicable.
  • Strong communication, empathy, discretion, and ability to work in a uniformed services environment.
  • Willingness to serve anywhere in India or abroad and adapt to operational requirements.
