Role Overview
As a Head Constable (RO/RM), you will contribute to secure and reliable communications and technical readiness. Depending on the trade, you will either operate communication systems or maintain/repair radio and electronic equipment to ensure uninterrupted operational capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor radio communication systems and follow communication protocols (RO).
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair radio/electronic equipment and associated systems (RM).
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and calibration checks of communication equipment.
- Maintain logs, technical records, and equipment status reports as required.
- Support field deployments and ensure operational readiness under varied conditions.
- Coordinate with team members and supervisors to ensure secure, timely, and accurate message handling.
- Comply with safety standards, technical procedures, and organizational discipline.
Requirements
- Education (RO): 10th pass (or equivalent) with 2-year ITI in Radio & Television, Electronics, Computer Operator & Programming Assistant, Data Preparation, or related trade; or 12th pass (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- Education (RM): 10th pass (or equivalent) with 2-year ITI in Radio & Television, General Electronics, Computer Operator & Programming Assistant, or related trade; or 12th pass (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- Age: Minimum 18 years. Maximum 25 years (General), 28 years (OBC), 30 years (SC/ST) as per applicable rules and relaxations.
- Ability to meet physical standards and complete PET/PST requirements.
- Basic computer literacy and technical aptitude preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and willingness to serve in varied locations.
