This role is intended for experienced and qualified educators to lead primary schools, strengthen academic outcomes, and ensure effective school administration in line with applicable state guidelines and standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide academic leadership and oversee teaching-learning processes across primary grades.
- Plan, implement, and monitor school-level academic and administrative activities.
- Support teachers through guidance, classroom observation, and professional development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant education policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate examinations/assessments and track student progress and learning outcomes.
- Manage school operations including schedules, records, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and disciplined school environment.
- Engage with parents/guardians and local stakeholders to improve student attendance and performance.
Requirements
- Citizenship/Domicile: Must be an Indian citizen and a resident of the State of Bihar (as stated in the notification).
- Education: Graduation degree from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks. A relaxation of 5% is applicable for candidates belonging to SC/ST/EBC/BC/Differently abled/Female and EWS categories (as per notification).
- Equivalent Qualifications: ‘Aalim’ (Maulana Mazharul Haque Arbi & Persian University, Patna/Bihar State Madarsa Education Board) and ‘Shastri’ (Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University) are treated as equivalent to graduation (as per notification).
- Professional Qualification: Must have qualified D.El.Ed/B.T/B.Ed./B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed/B.L.Ed.
- Eligibility Test: Must have qualified the Teacher Eligibility Test for teachers appointed in 2012 or later; teachers appointed before 2012 must be qualified in the efficiency examination (as per notification).
- Age Limit: Maximum 60 years (as on 01-Aug-2022), with relaxation as per rules.
