IAF Group Y Medical Assistant (Airmen) – Intake 02/2026

The Indian Air Force (IAF) invites applications for the Group Y Medical Assistant (Airmen) role under Intake 02/2026. This position supports the delivery of medical and pharmacy-related services within IAF units, contributing to the health, readiness, and operational effectiveness of personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing basic medical care and first aid support under authorized medical supervision.
  • Support routine clinical and ward activities, including patient assistance and documentation as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene standards, and infection-control practices in assigned medical areas.
  • Assist with handling, storage, and basic inventory management of medical supplies and consumables.
  • For Pharmacy-qualified candidates: support dispensing processes and pharmacy operations as per applicable rules and supervision.
  • Participate in training, drills, and duties aligned with Air Force protocols and operational requirements.
  • Maintain professional conduct, confidentiality, and adherence to service discipline at all times.

Requirements

  • Education (10+2 pathway): 10+2 (Intermediate) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English from a recognized board with at least 50% overall and 50% in English; OR a 2-year vocational course with PCB and English as non-vocational subjects meeting the same marks criteria.
  • Education (Pharmacy pathway): 10+2 or equivalent with PCB and English (minimum 50% overall and 50% in English) plus Diploma/B.Sc in Pharmacy with minimum 50% marks and valid registration with the State Pharmacy Council or Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) at the time of enrolment.
  • Age limits (as per Agniveer rules for Intake 02/2026):
    • 10+2 candidates: Unmarried; date of birth between 02 July 2005 and 02 July 2009; age at enrolment not exceeding 21 years.
    • Diploma/B.Sc Pharmacy candidates: Unmarried: born between 02 July 2002 and 02 July 2007; Married: born between 02 July 2002 and 02 July 2005; age at enrolment not exceeding 24 years.
    • Age relaxation as applicable under official intake rules.
  • Ability to qualify required selection stages, including written examination, physical fitness test, adaptability assessment, and medical examination.
  • Strong discipline, teamwork, and readiness to work in structured environments and varied locations.
