Responsibilities
Responsibilities vary by trade/posting. Typical duties may include:
- Performing workshop/maintenance activities for vehicles, equipment, armament, electrical systems, or telecom systems (technical and trade roles).
- Executing skilled fabrication/repair tasks as per trade standards (e.g., fitter, welder, machinist, tin & copper smith, upholster, moulder).
- Supporting administrative and clerical operations including documentation, registers, filing, and data handling (LDC/Storekeeper/Stenographer).
- Providing essential services such as cooking, washing, barbering, and general support duties (Cook/Washerman/Barber/MTS/Tradesman Mate).
- Fire safety and emergency response duties for Fireman/Fire Engine Driver roles, including drills and equipment readiness.
- Following safety protocols, quality standards, and instructions from supervisors/authorized officers.
Requirements
Age Limit
- Fire Engine Driver: 18 to 30 years
- All other posts: 18 to 25 years
- Age relaxation as per Indian Army DG EME Group C recruitment rules.
Educational/Technical Qualification (Post-wise Highlights)
- LDC: 12th pass; typing test (English 35 wpm / Hindi 30 wpm).
- Fireman/Tradesman Mate/MTS/Cook/Washerman/Barber/Fire Engine Driver: 10th pass (additional trade proficiency/experience as applicable).
- Skilled/Highly Skilled-II technical roles: 12th pass with relevant ITI in the specified trade (e.g., Electrician, Motor Mechanic, Fitter, Telecom Mechanic, Machinist/Turner/Mill Wright/Precision Grinder, etc.).
- Stenographer Grade-II: 12th pass; dictation 10 min @ 80 wpm and transcription (English 50 min / Hindi 65 min) on computer.
- Pharmacist: 12th pass + 2-year Diploma in Pharmacy.
- Draughtsman Grade-II: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Fire Engine Driver: 10th pass + 3 years driving experience.
