Position: SSC Tech Officer (Short Service Commission – Technical) for Men (61st Course) and Women (32nd Course)

We are inviting applications from eligible engineering graduates and final-year engineering students for the Short Service Commission (Technical) Officer entry. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage technical teams responsible for operation, maintenance, and readiness of engineering and technical systems.
  • Plan, execute, and supervise technical tasks, inspections, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards in all technical activities.
  • Support unit-level planning, logistics coordination, and technical documentation/reporting.
  • Participate in training and development programs to build leadership, tactical, and technical competencies.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to maintain equipment availability and mission readiness.
  • Uphold organizational values, discipline, and professional conduct expected of commissioned officers.

Requirements

  • Education: Engineering degree (B.E./B.Tech) in relevant disciplines from a recognized institution; final-year students may be eligible as per official criteria.
  • Eligibility: Must meet the entry-specific age criteria and other conditions as notified for SSC Tech Men (61) and SSC Tech Women (32).
  • Technical aptitude: Strong fundamentals in engineering concepts relevant to assigned corps/streams.
  • Leadership potential: Ability to lead teams, make decisions under pressure, and communicate clearly.
  • Physical/medical fitness: Must meet prescribed medical and physical standards applicable to officer entry.
  • Documentation: Ability to produce and verify required certificates and identity/academic documents during selection and commissioning processes.
