Position: Informatics Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused Informatics Assistant to support day-to-day IT operations, data handling, and user assistance across internal teams. This role blends technical support, documentation, and basic systems/data work to help ensure smooth digital workflows and reliable access to information.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support to users (desktop applications, email, printing, basic networking, and access issues).
  • Assist with data entry, data validation, and maintenance of structured records in internal systems.
  • Support routine IT operations such as user onboarding/offboarding, password resets, and access provisioning under established policies.
  • Maintain documentation for standard operating procedures (SOPs), FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Assist in preparing reports and summaries using spreadsheets and office productivity tools.
  • Coordinate with senior IT staff and vendors to escalate and track incidents, service requests, and hardware repairs.
  • Help monitor system availability and perform basic checks/log reviews as instructed.
  • Support periodic audits, inventory tracking of IT assets, and license/consumables tracking.
  • Ensure adherence to data privacy and information security practices while handling sensitive information.

Requirements

  • Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 0–3 years of experience in IT support, data operations, or an administrative role involving computer systems.
  • Working knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and common troubleshooting practices.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (LAN/Wi-Fi, IP addressing, printers) and endpoint support.
  • Comfort with data accuracy, record maintenance, and structured documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset when supporting end users.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage tickets/requests, and meet deadlines.
  • Preferred: familiarity with ticketing tools, basic SQL/reporting, and government/enterprise process compliance.
