Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) is inviting applications for Pipeline Division Apprentice opportunities across multiple trades/roles. This apprenticeship program is designed to provide hands-on industry exposure, structured learning, and practical experience within IOCL’s pipeline operations and supporting functions.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities vary by trade/role. Selected apprentices may be involved in the following, depending on the assigned discipline:

  • Assist engineering and operations teams in day-to-day pipeline division activities under supervision.
  • Support preventive and breakdown maintenance activities for mechanical/electrical/instrumentation systems (as applicable).
  • Help with inspections, measurements, documentation, and reporting as per IOCL processes.
  • Participate in safety briefings, follow standard operating procedures, and comply with statutory and internal safety requirements.
  • Provide administrative support for HR/Accounts/Data Entry functions (for relevant apprentice categories).
  • Maintain accurate records, files, and data entries using prescribed formats/tools (for DEO roles).

Requirements

Age Criteria (as on 31 August 2025)

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 24 years
  • Age Relaxation: As per IOCL Pipeline Division Apprentice Recruitment rules

Educational Qualifications (Trade-wise)

  • Technician Apprentice (Mechanical): Three-year full-time Diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering (lateral entry available for Class 12 Science/ITI students into the 2nd year).
  • Technician Apprentice (Electrical): Three-year full-time Diploma in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering (lateral entry available for Class 12 Science/ITI students into the 2nd year).
  • Technician Apprentice (Telecommunication & Instrumentation): Three-year full-time Diploma from a government-recognized institute in one of the following: Electronics & Communication Engineering; Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering; Electronics & Radio Communication Engineering; Instrumentation & Control Engineering; Instrumentation & Process Control Engineering; Electronics Engineering (lateral entry available for Class 12 Science/ITI students into the 2nd year).
  • Trade Apprentice (Assistant – Human Resource): Full-time Bachelor’s degree from a government-recognized institute or university.
  • Trade Apprentice (Accountant): Full-time Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from a government-recognized institute or university.
  • Data Entry Operator (Fresher Apprentices): Minimum qualification: 12th pass (not a graduate).
  • Domestic Data Entry Operator: 12th pass (not a graduate) with a recognized “Domestic Data Entry Operator” skill certificate.
