Responsibilities

  • Drive and operate assigned heavy motor vehicles safely and efficiently as per ITBP operational requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to traffic laws, convoy protocols, and force safety guidelines.
  • Conduct routine checks of vehicle condition (brakes, lights, tires, fluids) and report defects promptly.
  • Maintain basic documentation/logs related to vehicle movement, fuel usage, and servicing schedules.
  • Support unit readiness by ensuring vehicles are mission-ready for deployments, transport duties, and emergency response.
  • Assist with loading/unloading and secure transport of personnel and materials when required.
  • Work effectively in remote locations, varying climates, and physically demanding conditions.

Requirements

  • Education: Matriculation / Class 10 pass from a recognized board or an equivalent qualification.
  • License: Must possess a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License.
  • Age Limit (as on 06 November 2024): Minimum 21 years and maximum 27 years (age relaxation as per ITBP rules).
  • Ability to meet PET/PST standards and comply with medical/fitness requirements as prescribed by ITBP.
  • Strong sense of discipline, reliability, and commitment to duty.
  • Willingness to work in rotational duties and deployments as per force requirements.

Selection Process

  • Selection will be conducted as per ITBP rules for the Constable (Driver) post.
  • PET/PST will be scheduled during November – December 2025 as per individual admit card details.
