Samagra Shiksha Chandigarh (SSA), Chandigarh is seeking qualified and dedicated educators for the role of Junior Basic Teacher (JBT) / Primary Teacher. This position focuses on delivering high-quality foundational education, supporting students’ academic and socio-emotional development, and contributing to a positive school culture aligned with departmental and curriculum standards.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons for primary-level students in alignment with prescribed curriculum and learning outcomes.
- Create an inclusive, safe, and supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and curiosity.
- Assess student learning through classwork, assignments, activities, and periodic evaluations; maintain accurate academic records.
- Identify learning gaps and provide appropriate remediation, differentiated instruction, and support for diverse learners.
- Integrate age-appropriate teaching aids, activities, and classroom management strategies to improve learning effectiveness.
- Collaborate with school leadership and fellow teachers to implement academic plans, co-curricular activities, and school initiatives.
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress, attendance, and development needs.
- Participate in trainings, workshops, and professional development programs as required.
- Support administrative and school duties as assigned, including examination-related work and documentation.
Requirements
- Education: Graduation with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) recognized by NCTE.
- Certification: Must have passed Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET).
- Age: 21 to 37 years (age relaxation as per applicable regulations).
- Strong understanding of primary pedagogy, child development, and foundational literacy/numeracy practices.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Commitment to ethical conduct, student safety, and inclusive education practices.
