Position Summary
The Junior Clerk role supports day-to-day office administration, record management, clerical documentation, and computer-based office tasks. The position also requires qualifying in a computer proficiency/typing skill test as part of the selection process.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine clerical and administrative tasks including file movement, record keeping, and documentation.
- Prepare, format, and process office documents using word processing tools and office automation systems.
- Support bookkeeping-related clerical work and maintain registers/records as assigned.
- Handle data entry, document scanning, and digital record maintenance.
- Assist in coordination of office correspondence, noting/drafting, and related administrative workflows.
- Support departmental teams with day-to-day operational requirements and compliance documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy while handling official information and records.
Requirements
- Education: Graduation degree with Second Class from a recognized university/college, plus either:

- 6-month training in computer use for office automation, bookkeeping, and word processing; OR
- Diploma in Computer from AICTE-recognized institution.
- Skill Test (Typing): English typing 30 WPM or Hindi typing 25 WPM.
- Age Limit (as on 01 Oct 2024): 18 to 30 years (age relaxation as per BHU rules).
- Working knowledge of office tools and basic computer applications used for administrative work.
- Strong attention to detail, record accuracy, and ability to work with routine administrative processes.
