Position: Junior Engineer (JE) — Civil / Electrical / Mechanical

This role is ideal for diploma/degree-qualified engineers who want to build a long-term career in government engineering services. As a Junior Engineer, you will support planning, execution, inspection, measurement, and maintenance of engineering works across civil, electrical, and mechanical domains, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with applicable codes and departmental standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, estimation, and execution of engineering projects (civil/electrical/mechanical as applicable).
  • Prepare and verify measurements, site records, and technical documentation (e.g., measurement books, checklists, inspection notes).
  • Support supervision of contractors and site activities to ensure adherence to specifications, drawings, and timelines.
  • Coordinate with senior engineers, site teams, and other stakeholders for smooth project delivery.
  • Monitor quality control processes and ensure compliance with relevant standards, safety practices, and departmental procedures.
  • Assist in maintenance and operation activities for assets/infrastructure, including troubleshooting and reporting issues.
  • Support procurement/indent processes by contributing technical inputs, BOQs, and material requirements (as assigned).
  • Participate in inspections, testing, commissioning, and documentation handover activities.

Requirements

  • Education: BE/B.Tech or Engineering Diploma in the relevant trade (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical) as per the department’s eligibility criteria.
  • Experience: Some departments may require a diploma plus relevant experience (e.g., 2 years) for specific posts; other posts may accept diploma/degree without experience.
  • Age Limit: Typically up to 30–32 years (post-wise) with applicable age relaxation as per rules.
  • Working knowledge of engineering fundamentals, drawings, specifications, and basic estimation/measurement practices.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare clear technical reports.
  • Comfort with field/site work and coordination across teams.
  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation and official portals.
