Role Overview

As a Junior Engineer / Officer, you will contribute to day-to-day engineering operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure equipment reliability, process efficiency, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support operations and maintenance activities for plant/terminal/pipeline assets as applicable to your discipline.
  • Assist in monitoring equipment performance, process parameters, and system reliability; escalate abnormalities promptly.
  • Perform troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and support corrective/preventive maintenance actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, statutory requirements, and internal standards (e.g., permits, audits, inspections).
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, checklists, and technical documentation for assigned systems and activities.
  • Coordinate with contractors and internal teams for routine jobs, shutdown activities, and minor projects.
  • Participate in safety drills, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement initiatives (quality, energy efficiency, reliability).
  • Support commissioning/installation activities for new equipment or system upgrades where assigned.

Requirements

  • Education (Discipline-specific):
    • Chemical: 3-year Diploma with at least 65% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwBD) in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, Petrochemical Engineering, or related fields.
    • Mechanical: 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute.
    • Electrical: 3-year Diploma in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Electrical Power System / Electrical Engineering (Industrial Control) or related fields.
    • Instrumentation: 3-year Diploma in Instrumentation / Instrumentation & Electronics / Instrumentation & Control / Applied Electronics & Instrumentation or related fields.
  • Age: Maximum 26 years (as per applicable cut-off date and IOCL rules); age relaxation as per regulations.
  • Sound understanding of engineering fundamentals, basic maintenance practices, and safety-first work culture.
  • Ability to work in shifts and in field/industrial environments as required.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.

  • Group Discussion (GD) / Document Verification (DV) (as applicable)
