Airports Authority of India (AAI) invites applications for the role of Junior Executive (Air Traffic Control). This position supports safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of air traffic through the provision of air traffic services in accordance with applicable rules, procedures, and operational standards. The role is suited for candidates who can perform effectively in a high-responsibility, safety-critical environment and are comfortable working in shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Support the provision of air traffic control services to ensure the safe separation and efficient movement of aircraft.
  • Monitor and manage air traffic situations using radar, communication systems, and flight progress information.
  • Coordinate with pilots, adjacent ATC units, and airport operations teams to maintain safe and efficient operations.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and regulatory requirements applicable to ATC operations.
  • Maintain accurate operational logs, records, and reports as required.
  • Respond appropriately to abnormal and emergency situations, escalating per established procedures.
  • Participate in training, briefings, simulations, and periodic assessments to maintain operational readiness.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, compliance, and service quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline as per AAI recruitment norms for Junior Executive (ATC) roles.
  • Ability to qualify in the prescribed selection process (e.g., computer-based test/online examination and subsequent stages as applicable).
  • Strong communication skills, situational awareness, and decision-making ability.
  • Comfort working in rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • High level of integrity and ability to perform under pressure in safety-critical operations.
  • Basic proficiency with computer-based systems and digital tools used in operational environments.
