Position: Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) / Junior Stenographer

Organization: CSIR – Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (CSIR-IITR), Lucknow

Location: Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh

CSIR-IITR invites applications for administrative support roles to strengthen day-to-day office operations across general administration, finance & accounts, store & purchase, and stenography services. This role is suited for detail-oriented candidates with strong typing/stenography skills, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to work in a structured, process-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide secretarial and clerical support including drafting, formatting, and maintaining official documents and correspondence.
  • Handle data entry, file management, record keeping, and upkeep of registers as per office procedures.
  • Support scheduling, coordination, and routine office operations for departments/sections.
  • For Finance & Accounts: assist in basic accounting support work, documentation, and processing of routine financial records as assigned.
  • For Store & Purchase: support inventory documentation, purchase-related paperwork, and maintenance of store records as assigned.
  • For Stenographer: take dictation, transcribe notes, prepare minutes, and manage confidential documents as required.
  • Operate standard office software/tools and perform typing tasks within prescribed speed/accuracy norms.
  • Assist in any other administrative duties assigned by the reporting officer/section head.

Requirements

  • Education: 10+2 (Intermediate) or equivalent from a recognized board.
  • Age Limit (as on 01 July 2022): 18 to 28 years.
  • Typing (for JSA): Proficiency in computer typing with speed of 35 wpm in English or 30 wpm in Hindi.
  • Stenography (for Junior Stenographer): Proficiency in stenography as per role requirement.
  • Comfortable working with computers and standard office applications; strong attention to detail and document accuracy.
  • Ability to follow rules/procedures and maintain confidentiality of official information.
