Position: Laboratory Technician
We are seeking detail-oriented and quality-focused Laboratory Technicians to support diagnostic and laboratory operations. This role involves specimen handling, routine and specialized testing support, equipment upkeep, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Collect, receive, label, and process laboratory specimens in accordance with established protocols.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and assist with specialized procedures as assigned.
- Operate laboratory instruments and equipment; conduct calibration checks and basic troubleshooting.
- Prepare reagents, solutions, and culture media (where applicable) while maintaining accurate logs.
- Maintain documentation for test procedures, quality control, and reporting as per laboratory standards.
- Follow biosafety, infection control, and waste disposal guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Support internal audits and quality assurance activities, including participation in proficiency testing when required.
- Coordinate with supervisors and clinical staff to ensure timely turnaround of results.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of work areas; ensure availability of consumables and supplies.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT/MLT) recognized by the relevant medical faculty/authority (e.g., U.P. State Medical Faculty, Lucknow or equivalent).
- Working knowledge of laboratory SOPs, quality control practices, and safety procedures.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and handle samples with precision and care.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and report handling.
- Strong attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team-based environment.
- Age range (where applicable): 18 to 40 years (role-dependent and subject to organizational policy).
