Position: Legal Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to support our legal team with case preparation, documentation, research, and administrative coordination. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment, maintains high standards of accuracy and confidentiality, and can manage multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, format, proofread, and organize legal documents, correspondence, notices, and reports.
  • Assist with case file management, including maintaining records, indexing, and ensuring version control of documents.
  • Coordinate schedules, meetings, and deadlines; maintain calendars and reminders for hearings, filings, and internal reviews.
  • Support legal research by gathering statutes, regulations, case references, and background materials as directed.
  • Prepare document bundles for internal review, submission, or hearings, ensuring completeness and proper formatting.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external parties (e.g., counsel, government offices, vendors) for routine follow-ups and information requests.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with policies and applicable laws.
  • Assist with onboarding and maintaining templates, checklists, and standard operating procedures for legal workflows.

Requirements

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • 1+ years of experience in a legal support, paralegal, or administrative role (preferred).
  • Strong drafting and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of legal documentation practices and filing/record-keeping standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and work effectively under time constraints.
  • Proficiency with common office tools (word processing, spreadsheets, email) and document management practices.
  • Professional communication skills (written and verbal) and strong stakeholder coordination ability.
  • High integrity with demonstrated discretion and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting litigation, compliance, contracts, or government/legal administrative functions.
  • Familiarity with basic legal research tools and citation practices.
  • Experience with e-filing portals and compiling submission-ready document sets.
