Position: Local Bank Officer (LBO)
We are seeking motivated, customer-focused banking professionals to join our branch network as Local Bank Officers (LBO). In this role, you will support branch operations, drive customer acquisition and service excellence, and contribute to business growth while ensuring compliance with banking policies and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day customer banking needs, including account servicing, issue resolution, and relationship management.
- Support deposit mobilization, cross-selling of banking products, and achievement of branch/business targets.
- Assist in preliminary credit-related activities such as customer profiling, documentation collection, and coordination for loan processing (as per internal policy).
- Ensure adherence to KYC/AML guidelines, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation; support audits and compliance checks.
- Coordinate with operations, service, and sales teams to ensure smooth branch functioning and a high-quality customer experience.
- Communicate effectively with customers in the local language to build trust and improve service outcomes.
- Participate in training, performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Education: Graduation in any stream from a recognized university.
- Eligible professional qualifications: Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant, Engineering, or Medical qualifications are also acceptable.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of post-qualification experience as an officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or any Regional Rural Bank (as listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India).
- Note: Experience in NBFCs, cooperative banks, payment banks, small finance banks, or fintech organizations will not be considered for this role.
- Language proficiency: Must be proficient in the local language of the state/region applied for (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding).
- Strong customer orientation, communication skills, and ability to work in a target-driven environment.
- Working knowledge of core banking processes, documentation standards, and compliance practices.
