Position: Mining Inspector

MPPSC invites applications for the post of Mining Inspector. This role supports regulatory oversight, field inspections, and compliance monitoring across mining operations, helping ensure safe, lawful, and environmentally responsible extraction activities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of mining sites to verify compliance with applicable mining rules, safety standards, and permit conditions.
- Identify irregularities such as unauthorized mining, boundary violations, and non-compliance with approved plans; prepare inspection notes and reports.
- Assist in monitoring production, dispatch, and record-keeping practices at mining operations.
- Support enforcement actions by documenting findings, collecting evidence as required, and coordinating with relevant authorities.
- Verify statutory registers, licenses, and operational documents maintained by mine operators.
- Participate in departmental reviews, audits, and other administrative tasks assigned by supervising officers.
- Contribute to awareness of safety and compliance requirements during site interactions.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Diploma in Mining Engineering from a recognized institution in India.
- Age Limit (as on 01 January 2024): Minimum 21 years; Maximum 40 years (age relaxation as per applicable rules).
- Ability to perform field duties, including travel to mining areas and working in outdoor/industrial environments.
- Working knowledge of mining operations, safety practices, and regulatory compliance is preferred.
- Strong documentation skills for preparing inspection reports and maintaining records.
