Position: Motor Vehicle Sub Inspector (MVSI)

This role focuses on ensuring roadworthiness and regulatory compliance of motor vehicles, supporting enforcement of transport laws, and assisting in public safety initiatives related to vehicle standards and documentation. The MVSI works in coordination with transport authorities and other enforcement stakeholders to conduct inspections, verify documents, and participate in scheduled physical and document verification processes as required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of motor vehicles to verify compliance with applicable transport rules, safety standards, and emission norms.
  • Examine vehicle documents and certifications (e.g., registration, permits, fitness certificates, insurance, pollution certificates) and identify discrepancies.
  • Prepare inspection reports, record findings accurately, and maintain official documentation as per departmental procedures.
  • Support enforcement actions related to non-compliance, including issuing notices and recommending corrective actions within the scope of authority.
  • Assist in investigation or verification activities related to vehicle identity, chassis/engine details, and suspected fraudulent documentation.
  • Coordinate with departmental teams for scheduled duties such as physical standards tests, document verification activities, and field assignments.
  • Maintain professionalism and follow examination/assessment protocols during any departmental selection or verification processes.
  • Promote road safety awareness and contribute to initiatives aimed at improving vehicle compliance and public safety.

Requirements
