Role Overview

As a Technician Trainee (Cat III), you will support maintenance, operation, inspection, and troubleshooting of mechanical/electrical/welding-related systems and equipment. You will work under established SOPs, safety standards, and supervision while developing hands-on proficiency in your respective trade.

Responsibilities

  • Perform trade-specific maintenance and repair tasks as per assigned area and shift requirements.
  • Assist in installation, inspection, and servicing of equipment and systems (mechanical/electrical/fabrication as applicable).
  • Identify faults, support troubleshooting, and help restore equipment to operational condition with minimal downtime.
  • Follow preventive maintenance schedules and maintain checklists, logs, and job cards.
  • Adhere to all safety rules, PPE requirements, permit systems, and statutory compliance guidelines.
  • Support housekeeping and 5S practices in the work area to maintain a safe and efficient environment.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Participate in training, toolbox talks, and safety drills as required.

Requirements

  • Education: Class 10th pass from a recognized board.
  • Technical Qualification: 2-year ITI in the relevant trade (Fitter/Electrician/Welder or applicable equivalent as per notification).
  • Training: 1-year Apprentice Training Certificate.
  • Age: 18 to 30 years (age relaxation as per NCL/CIL norms).
  • Ability to work in an industrial/mining environment and comply with strict safety and operational procedures.
  • Basic documentation skills for recording maintenance activities and supporting audits/inspections.
