Position: Public Relation Officer (PRO) / Jan Sampark Adhikari

Overview: We are seeking a skilled Public Relation Officer (PRO) to support public communication, media relations, and information dissemination initiatives. This role requires strong writing and coordination abilities, sound judgment, and an understanding of public engagement and regional cultural context.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute communication plans to support organizational programs and public-facing initiatives.
  • Draft, edit, and publish press releases, statements, speeches, briefs, and other public information materials.
  • Coordinate with print, digital, and broadcast media; respond to queries and facilitate interviews/press interactions.
  • Manage event communications including press conferences, public outreach programs, and stakeholder briefings.
  • Monitor media coverage and public sentiment; prepare daily/weekly media reports and analysis.
  • Support crisis communication efforts by preparing accurate, timely messaging and coordinating approvals.
  • Maintain content repositories (photos, press clippings, releases) and ensure consistent messaging across channels.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to gather updates, verify facts, and ensure communication accuracy.
  • Promote awareness of initiatives through social media and digital platforms in alignment with communication guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable communication policies, protocols, and documentation standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in journalism/public relations/communications (as applicable to the role).
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate content under deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of regional context and culture (including familiarity with Rajasthani culture is preferred/advantageous).
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, manage approvals, and maintain confidentiality when required.
  • Comfortable handling media interactions and representing the organization professionally.
  • Proficiency with common digital tools (email, word processing, presentation tools) and familiarity with social media workflows.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
