Position: Pump Operator
We are hiring Pump Operators to support safe, reliable operation and basic maintenance of pumping systems and related mechanical equipment. This role is ideal for candidates with a Matriculation (10th) qualification and ITI (Fitter Trade) who are comfortable working with field equipment, following operating procedures, and maintaining accurate logs.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor pumps, motors, valves, and associated control panels as per standard operating procedures.
- Start/stop pumping equipment, regulate flow/pressure, and ensure stable system performance.
- Conduct routine inspection rounds; identify abnormal noise, vibration, leaks, overheating, or pressure fluctuations.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance activities such as lubrication, cleaning, tightening, and minor adjustments within defined scope.
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical/electrical issues and coordinate with maintenance teams for corrective actions.
- Maintain operational records including readings (pressure, flow, run-hours), breakdown logs, and maintenance checklists.
- Follow safety protocols, use PPE correctly, and comply with site rules and emergency procedures.
- Support documentation and compliance requirements, including readiness for inspections/audits.
Requirements
- Matriculation (10th) from a recognized board or equivalent.
- ITI Certificate or Fitter Trade qualification from a recognized Industrial Training Institute (ITI).
- Basic understanding of pumps, piping, valves, bearings, and mechanical fitting practices.
- Ability to read basic gauges/meters and maintain accurate log entries.
- Comfortable working in shifts and field environments (as per operational needs).
- Strong safety mindset and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in pump operation, water supply systems, utilities, or industrial operations.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance schedules and basic troubleshooting methods.
- Ability to support documentation for inspections and compliance processes.
