Responsibilities

• Maintain public order and assist in ensuring law and order in assigned jurisdictions.
• Support crime prevention initiatives, patrol duties, and community policing activities.
• Assist in investigation-related tasks as directed by senior officers, including documentation and field support.
• Enforce applicable laws, rules, and departmental procedures while maintaining professionalism and integrity.
• Respond to emergencies and assist in crowd control, traffic regulation, and public safety operations.
• For Armed Police assignments, support operational readiness and duties requiring enhanced field deployment.

Requirements

• Education: 10+2 (Intermediate) passed from a recognized board in India.
• Language Requirement: Punjabi as a subject in Class 10 (Matric) level.
• Age Limit (as on 01 January 2024):
  • Minimum: 18 years
  • Maximum: 28 years
  • Age relaxation: As per rules
• Physical Standards / PET:
  • Height:
    • Male: 5 feet 7 inches
    • Female: 5 feet 2 inches
  • Running:
    • Male: 1600 meter race in 6 min 30 sec
    • Female: 800 meter race in 4 min 30 sec
  • Long Jump:
    • Male: 3.80 meters
    • Female: 3.00 meters
  • High Jump:
    • Male: 1.10 meters
    • Female: 0.95 meters
