Responsibilities
- Participate in on-the-job training in the allotted trade area under PLW/Indian Railways supervision.
- Assist with routine shop-floor activities such as fitting, machining, electrical work, welding, or diesel-mechanical maintenance as applicable to the trade.
- Follow standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and workplace discipline requirements.
- Maintain training records/logs and complete assigned practical and theoretical modules during the apprenticeship period.
- Support team members and supervisors in workshop tasks, inspections, and basic troubleshooting as per training level.
Requirements
- Age Limit (as on 22 December 2025):
- Minimum: 15 years
- Maximum: 22 years (Welder)
- Maximum: 24 years (Other trades)
- Age relaxation: As per applicable PLW/Indian Railways rules
- Educational Qualification:
- For Welder: Passed Class 8 from a recognized board and ITI certification from an NCVT/SCVT-recognized institute.
- For Other Trades: Passed Class 10 with at least 50% marks from a recognized board and ITI certification from an NCVT/SCVT-approved institute.
- Other Expectations:
- Basic technical aptitude and willingness to learn in an industrial environment.
- Ability to comply with medical fitness standards required for apprenticeship engagement.
- Readiness to produce valid documents for verification (education, ITI, age, category, etc.).
