Overview: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is inviting applications for Technician Grade-I (Signal) and Technician Grade-III roles. These positions support safe, reliable, and efficient railway operations through technical maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and adherence to established engineering and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, inspection, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance of assigned railway technical systems and equipment.
  • Diagnose faults, carry out repairs/replacements, and document work performed as per departmental procedures.
  • Support workshop/production unit activities (as applicable), including testing, calibration, and quality checks.
  • Follow safety protocols, technical manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) during all field/workshop activities.
  • Assist in maintaining logs, checklists, and maintenance records for audits and compliance.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and team members to meet operational timelines and service reliability targets.
  • Participate in training, briefings, and periodic assessments as required by the organization.

Requirements

  • Education (as per post/stream):
    • BE/B.Tech, Engineering Diploma, or B.Sc. in Engineering (for applicable technician roles).
    • For Technician Gr-III (Open Line, Workshop & PUs): Class 10th with ITI certificate in the relevant trade OR Class 12th with PCM subjects.
  • Age (as on 01 July 2025):
    • Minimum: 18 years
    • Maximum: 30 years (Technician Gr-III)
    • Maximum: 33 years (Technician Gr-I Signal)
    • Age relaxation as per RRB rules and applicable categories.
  • Ability to work in shifts, field conditions, and operational environments as required.
  • Basic proficiency in reading technical instructions, following procedures, and maintaining records.
  • Strong attention to safety, compliance, and quality standards.
