Position: Research Assistant
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Research Assistant to support research, data collection, statistical analysis, and reporting activities. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong postgraduate foundation in social sciences, commerce, mathematics, or statistics, and comfort working with structured datasets and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and executing research projects, including defining objectives, methodology, and timelines.
- Collect, clean, validate, and organize quantitative and qualitative data from primary and secondary sources.
- Perform statistical analysis and prepare tables, charts, and summaries for internal and external reporting.
- Support literature reviews, policy/market scans, and preparation of research notes and briefs.
- Draft and format reports, presentations, and documentation with a high level of accuracy.
- Maintain research records, datasets, and version-controlled documentation for auditability and reproducibility.
- Coordinate with stakeholders for data requests, clarifications, and document collection.
- Follow established guidelines for confidentiality, data handling, and ethical research practices.
Requirements
- Postgraduate degree in Economics, Public Administration, Sociology, Mathematics, Commerce, or Statistics (or closely related discipline).
- Working knowledge of computers and digital productivity tools; RS-CIT certification preferred/required as applicable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret data and present insights in a clear, structured manner.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with statistical tools (e.g., SPSS/R/Stata) is a plus.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a process-driven environment.
