RRB Group D (Level 1) Recruitment – Multiple Posts

Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) are inviting applications for Group D / Level 1 roles across multiple railway zones. This hiring drive includes a wide range of operational and maintenance positions such as Track Maintainer, Pointsman, and various Assistant roles in electrical, mechanical, workshop, and signal & telecom functions.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day railway operations and ensure safe, timely movement of trains and related services.
  • Assist in track maintenance and upkeep activities (as applicable), including routine inspection and basic repair support.
  • Support maintenance of equipment, electrical systems, workshop machinery, or depot operations based on the assigned trade/post.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and reporting guidelines.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and teams during shifts to complete assigned tasks within timelines.
  • Maintain basic records/logs and comply with departmental instructions.

Requirements

  • Education: Class 10 (High School) from a recognized board and/or NCVT/SCVT recognized qualification; or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) issued by NCVT (as per eligibility criteria).
  • Age: 18 to 36 years (as per applicable cut-off date and RRB rules). Age relaxation may apply as per RRB regulations.
  • Ability to work in shifts, outdoor/field conditions, and operational environments depending on the post.
  • Physical fitness suitable for role requirements and selection stages (including Physical Efficiency Test where applicable).
  • Basic aptitude for reasoning, mathematics, general science, and general awareness aligned with CBT requirements.

  • General Science: 25 questions (25 marks)
  • Mathematics: 25 questions (25 marks)
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: 30 questions (30 marks)
  • General Awareness & Current Affairs: 20 questions (20 marks)
  • Marking: +1 for correct; negative marking of 1/3 for incorrect answers
