Position: Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) / Clerk

Responsibilities

  • Provide courteous and efficient customer service at branch counters and through in-branch support channels.
  • Handle routine banking transactions such as cash deposits/withdrawals, fund transfers, account servicing requests, and cheque-related services in accordance with bank policies.
  • Assist customers with digital banking adoption (e.g., mobile/internet banking onboarding and basic troubleshooting).
  • Support sales and service initiatives by identifying customer needs and referring appropriate banking products (as per role scope and branch guidance).
  • Maintain accurate records, ensure transaction integrity, and comply with internal controls and audit requirements.
  • Support branch operations including documentation, data entry, customer KYC/verification support, and coordination with internal teams.
  • Adhere to compliance requirements, including confidentiality, customer data protection, and operational risk controls.
  • Communicate clearly with customers in the local language as required for effective service delivery.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university/institute.
  • Local Language: Knowledge of the local language is required for the posting region.
  • Age: 20 to 28 years (age relaxations applicable as per SBI/government norms).
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, customer handling, attention to detail, basic computer proficiency, and ability to learn banking systems/processes.
  • Work Style: Comfortable working in a structured, process-driven environment with performance and compliance expectations.
  • Eligibility Note: Final-year graduation students may be eligible to apply provisionally subject to proof of passing as per SBI timelines/conditions in the official notification.
