Position: SSC GD Constable (General Duty Constable)

Overview: We are inviting applications for the role of SSC GD Constable across multiple forces. This position supports national security and public safety through field duties, patrol, protection of critical assets, and assistance in law-and-order operations. Candidates should be prepared for a structured selection process that includes a computer-based test, physical efficiency/standard tests, document verification, and medical examination.

Responsibilities

• Perform general duty assignments including patrolling, vigilance, and post duty as per unit requirements.
• Maintain law and order support functions and assist in crowd control and public safety operations when deployed.
• Safeguard government property and critical infrastructure; enforce access control procedures.
• Participate in operational drills, training programs, and readiness activities as directed by superiors.
• Prepare and maintain basic duty-related records and reports as required.
• Follow instructions, standard operating procedures, and discipline protocols of the assigned force/unit.
• Support emergency response activities and coordinate with team members during deployments.

Requirements

• Education: Class 10th pass (or equivalent) from a recognized board/institution.
• Age: As per SSC rules and official notification (role- and category-wise relaxations may apply).
• Exam Readiness: Ability to prepare for a Computer Based Test (CBT) covering:
• General Intelligence & Reasoning
• General Knowledge & General Awareness
• Elementary Mathematics
• English / Hindi
• CBT Pattern (indicative): 80 questions, 160 marks, 60 minutes total.
• Physical Standards & Efficiency (indicative):
• Male (General/EWS/OBC/SC): Height 170 cm; Chest 80–85 cm; Running 5 km in 24 minutes
• Male (ST): Height 162.5 cm; Chest 76–81 cm; Running 5 km in 24 minutes
• Female (General/EWS/OBC/SC): Height 157 cm; Running 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes
• Female (ST): Height 150 cm; Running 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes
• Ladakh Region (indicative): Male 1.6 km in 6 min 30 sec; Female 800 m in 4 minutes
• Medically fit as per applicable standards and able to meet service conditions.
• Strong discipline, teamwork, and willingness to work in challenging environments and shifts.
